Ahh, yes, the Boston Scare. If you've heard about this event thats been all over the news, two guys went out and made an Aqua Teen Hunger Force, ATHF, LED sign. The way they were putting up the signs were similar to the Night Writer from Graffiti Research Labs.
GRL is a website for graffiti artists, though most if not all of the graffiti that they support is non-perminant (LED throwies and high powered projectors). If you want, check out their site HERE. Back to the Boston Scare. Two men who were supporting ATHF by posting these signs were arrested. The media said that these signs were a "bomb scare" and that they thought that terroritst were going to strike at those places. I can understand where the fear is coming from, but don't you think that this is a bit too far?
I am in full support of graffiti artists, and I think that its a cool idea. Non-perminant graffiti of course. LED throwies were always a cool thing that looked like a fun thing to make. I don't see any problem with the throwies, or many of the other projects undertaken by GRL, as long as they clean up after themselves. I really look up at those people who are able to do these kind of things. They're rebeling against society, doing what they want to do. The freedom that they must feel, I want to be able to experience all that. I want to do this one day, leave a sign that I was here, but nobody would know who it was. But me. Just the cool, unique things that I've seen them do have inspired me. Maybe, Hightower will be getting a visit from me one day. Before I get suspended. Basically, I wanted to get to this point. Do you think it was right to arrest those two guys from the boston scare for putting up the LED signs? |
